Vice president Dick Cheney is scheduled to attend a fundraiser for Republican 2nd Congressional District candidate Ed Tinsley on Sept. 26, The Associated Press is reporting.

The fundraiser will be held in Hobbs, the hometown of Tinsley’s Democratic opponent, Harry Teague.

“The vice president intends to work hard this cycle to return a Republican majority to Congress and he is looking forward to returning to New Mexico,” Cheney spokesman Jamie Hennigan was quoted by the news service as saying.

On August 26, 2002 Vice President Dick Cheney lied to our VFW veterans when he said "Simply stated, there is no doubt that Saddam Hussein now has weapons of mass destruction." Now this dishonest leader is coming to New Mexico for a fundraiser to prevaricate more about the Iraqi war. How much longer are Americans going to put up with his cock-and-bull stories?

The war in Iraq to destroy weapons of mass destruction ("WMD") that don't exist has created one of the biggest deficits ever. It costs $4,681 per household, $1,721 per person and $341.4 million per day. However we declare victory, there are no WMD's! This has been a war of lies and deceptions!

If you are a Christian you should be ashamed of VP Cheney. The Bush's administration made a total of 935 false statements between 2001 and 2003 about Iraq's alleged weapons of mass destruction (WMD). Now it is supposedly a war for liberty, democracy or freedom for the Iraqi people - whatever. However, the Christians in Iraq are facing genocide.

According to the the Iraqi census in 1987 there were 1.4 million Christians, however since the 2003 American invasion , the total number of Christians dropped to below 500,000, half of which live in Baghdad. Christians are fleeing the country for their survival due to ethnic cleansing by terrorists and Islamic militants. Christians who have fled Iraq report being pressured by Muslim insurgents, both Sunni and Shi'ite, to convert to Islam or leave Iraq. This is occurring right under the noses of the Iraqi and U.S. forces today. So we are close to victory with the surge. If you are a Christian in Iraq, there is no hope, no liberty and no freedom. Forget democracy!

Let's just hope Cheney doesn't ask him to go hunting. The congressional race could be over.
