Republican 2nd Congressional District candidate Ed Tinsley is on the air today with two new television ads, and his campaign plans to stay on the air until the June 3 primary.

The second of Tinsley’s new ads, titled “Scene of the Crime,” starts with Tinsley standing along a fence on the U.S.-Mexico border. He talks about his support for the Patriot Act and says the

That second ad is strange ... for Ed Tinsley.
Ed Tinsley against amnesty?!?
I thought Ed was in favor of that immigration bill that granted amnesty.
I thought Ed (as head of the National Restaurant Association) actually lobbied for the passage of the immigration bill that not only provided for amnesty but also allowed certain illegally present immigrants who have felony convictions to remain in the United States.
Did Ed change his position on immigration after years of working for and taking campaign money from the National Restaurant Association? Or, am I wrong about
Ed’s prior position on immigration? If I am wrong, I will apologize. If I am right, the public should know that he has done a 180 on his immigration stance.

Nelson, I don't think you're wrong about the change of heart. Remember we have 3 candidates who will owe some group big time. Dunn and bankers, Tinsley and restaurant people and Newman and realtors. Still looking hard for...
Wanta,
I understand your frustrations.
What bothers me the most about Tinsley is that “his change of heart” on the immigration issue has occurred sometime after January 1, 2008.
Tinsley has no credibility on this issue or any other issue in my opinion.

what about Greer and the Realtors, what about Sowards and the day care owners.....Sure you are right that Tinsely has taken positions and lobbied for amnesty and is clearly pandering to the oil guys, and yes he has clearly flip flopped.... but neither Dunn or Newman rises to Tinsley flip flopping level on issues.....Monty raised taxes like mad in Hobbs, Dunn changed his party affiliation but all "wantanhonestman" is doing is more of the same sneaky blog tactics by the Greer camp behind the screens of anonymity, but Greer is just another party yes man, and less of a strong New Mexican voice.
Thomas-I dont know how in the world you can say Greer is a party yes man when he ran against Allen Weh to try to stop that very type of party antics! Get a clue!
Um Thomas arent you operating under anonymity as well?!!
Thomas, I'm looking at all of the candidates - at least Sowards and Greer aren't backed by big organizations. I've been to all the websites and read all the propoganda - that's probably more than you can say. And, I'm still looking - and guess what? Greer is still the only one who has won a Republican primary! And it didn't take him $100k to make the pre-primary either. Keep talking you may convince me who to vote for yet what with flip-flopping, party changing and tax hikes that you pointed out. If fact, you tend to narrow the field for me, Thanks!
